Creating connection with my family through homeschooling, homemaking, and homesteading.
Hello, I’m Tyla!
Welcome to Raising Little Beane’s! This is a place where I passionately share about raising our small children and being a homemaker. I share all things related to homeschooling, homemaking, and homesteading.
My husband, Daniel and I, have lived in many places. We are happy to finally be settled in our home in central Texas with our 4 children. After our first 8 years of marriage moving from one big city to the next, we craved having some land to call our own. In 2021, that dream became a reality. We bought our new home on a couple of acres. Right away we bought some chickens, sheep and donkeys, started a garden and dove head first into homesteading. Over the last year and a half we’ve had lots of ups and downs, but we’ve learned to have fun in the process of turning our new home into our dream home.
I love a good cup of coffee, reading a new book and swinging outside with my children. My passion for learning was expanded when I started teaching my oldest child at home. As a toddler, as most toddlers are, my eldest was super curious and always learning new things. I dove head first into teaching her with any book I could get from the library. We loved learning together and would spend our days naturally learning the alphabet, doing puzzles, going on nature walks and cooking together.
As my children became school aged, it was a natural transition for me to want to homeschool my children. I love spending time with them and watching them grasp new concepts. I love the freedom to let my children run around the yard to get energy out any time we need it. I’m passionate about reading with my children and connecting with them through real-life experiences such as cooking, creating, and gardening. As a new homeschool mom, I also started researching curriculum like crazy! Some people might find it odd how happy I get when looking through new school books, but I really do love it!
As I researched new curriculum, I often found that I longed to flip-through them and read reviews prior to purchasing. It’s hard to know you’re buying the right thing when there are so many options! I had a hard time finding a list of what was available for a certain grades/subjects without having to comb through massive amounts of websites. While there are quite a few people reviewing curriculum, I never quite found an honest review and a flip-through together. So I decided to make this space, Raising Little Beane’s, into a place where you can find all of that information and more! I’ll be adding in some fun recipes, life skills for kids, and homesteading tips (as we learn them!).
I’m so excited to have you follow along with our homeschooling, homemaking, and homesteading journey. We share homeschool curriculum reviews, recipes, life skills and homesteading tips and know-how every week. Make sure you sign up below to get all the latest info!
